About Vital Kōkua

Founded by Dr. Caitlin Chamberlain, a functional dentist who believes that true wellness begins at the foundation.

After completing her dental residency in Honolulu, Hawai‘i, Dr. Chamberlain was deeply influenced by the spirit of kōkua — the Hawaiian value of helping, caring, and supporting others with intention. Serving at Kōkua Kalihi Valley Dental Clinic reshaped her understanding of health: that prevention, compassion, and connection are the roots of healing.

Years later, as a mother and functional dentist in Kansas City, she began to see the same truth reflected in her patients — that oral health and whole-body wellness are inseparably linked. Concerns like recurrent cavities, enamel erosion, and chronic gum inflammation weren’t isolated problems; they were signs of deeper systemic imbalances.

Vital Kōkua was born from this realization — that by nourishing the body at its foundation, starting with the mouth, we can cultivate strength, balance, and vitality from within.
